Team Ghana National Pastor Spotlight: Avocado “Thieves” Find Mercy

Team Ghana National Pastor Spotlight: Avocado "Thieves" Find MercyThank you for your support for our church-planting efforts through your prayers or financial support for Adopt-A-Village (#6150), Team Ghana (#6100), or for one or more specific national pastors. Here are recent testimonies from several of our pastors:

Pastor Kingsley Addai

“Faustina Opoku is growing in the Lord. She trusted Christ a few months ago. While we were going through a lesson on baptism, she told me she wanted to get baptized. Praise God! She has now followed the Lord in baptism. Pray for her to grow in grace.

“A few weeks ago, Isaac Assan came to visit us. I preached to him after the church service, and he trusted Christ. He was happy for the truth that he heard, and he followed the Lord in baptism the following Sunday. He has a zeal for souls and for the work of God. Pray that God will use him.” Fundamental Baptist Church, Mamponteng, Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana [Pastor Addai graduated from our Bible college in February 2018. He started the church in Mamponteng in 2019.]

Pastor Philip Gafatsi

“Two weeks ago, I met a teenager called Takla Suzy on my way to soul winning. She is a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, but she gave me the chance to preach the Gospel to her. I asked her, ‘If you were to die today, are you sure you would go to Heaven?’ She replied, ‘Yes, of course, I will go to Heaven.’ She added, ‘But you have to obey God’s Law, go to church, listen to the Word of God, and live a righteous life.’ I took her through the Bible and showed her what the Bible teaches a person must do to be saved. At the end of the discussion, she put her faith in Christ Jesus as her Saviour. Pray for her to grow. Also, pray for my wife. She is suffering from anemia.” – Fundamental Baptist Church, Sokode, Volta Region, Ghana [Pastor Gafatsi graduated from our Bible college in January 2011.]

Pastor Jonas Osei-Owusu

“A few weeks ago, my nephew, Joshua Marfo, invited me to his engagement at Nketia in Kumasi. [In this culture, “engagement” is a traditional wedding ceremony.] Many family members from both sides of the family came. I was given an opportunity to give advice to the couple, and I used that opportunity to preach the Gospel to the entire family. Almost all of them previously believed that you need to obey the commandments in order to go to Heaven. They were astonished when they heard that only faith in Jesus can get a person to Heaven. Some placed their faith in Christ and were excited. I thank God for their salvation and the place of Heaven.” – Fundamental Baptist Church, Kuntanase, Ashanti Region, Ghana [Pastor Osei-Owusu received a certificate from our Bible college in December 2011.]

Pastor Michael Naab

“I thank God for the salvation of these teenagers. A few weeks ago, we saw them on our church property picking avocados. As soon as they saw me, they started to run. I called them to come back so that we could share the Gospel with them. At first, only one of them came back, but then the rest joined him. We preached the Gospel to them, and they trusted Christ for their salvation. They all came to church on Sunday.” – Fundamental Baptist Church, Kunsu, Ashanti Region, Ghana [Pastor Naab graduated from our Bible college in August 2021. He started pastoring the church in Kunsu in July 2022.]
