Team Ghana Update: Six Days of Medical Clinics and Soul Winning

Team Ghana Update: Six Days of Medical Clinics and Soul WinningMany of you prayed for our medical clinics, which were held October 23-28. We hosted Dr. Greg Waller and his team from “Truth for Today Medical Missions,” and they provided medical assistance in 6 different communities where we have church plants. About 100 soul winners and other volunteers helped at these clinics; these helpers were from our church and our daughter churches. We went to the towns of Amakye Bare, Petrensa, Adwafo, Kuntenase, Kunsu, and Foase. Below is a group picture of the medical team and those from our church who helped in Kunsu on Day 5.

On a typical day that week, our church’s volunteers left the church property between 6 and 7 a.m. They arrived at one of our daughter churches between 8 and 9 a.m. The clinics would be open each day from about 9 a.m. until about 5 p.m. Every unsaved person who came to receive medical help also received a personal Gospel presentation from one of our soul winners. (A picture of our soul winners is at the end of this post.) Contact information was obtained on each person visiting the clinics so that our daughter-church pastors could follow up on these prospects. When the clinic closed each day, the team and our volunteers helped clean up the area, pack up the equipment, and reload the buses; and our volunteers got back to the church around 7 p.m.

We praise God that in these 6 days, over 1,100 individuals heard a Gospel presentation and professed their faith in Christ! We have received reports from our daughter churches about visitors and new church members as a result of these clinics. For example, Pastor Jonas Osei-Owusu sent us this picture of several helped by the clinics who were in his church this past Sunday. Five of these are new to his church because of the clinics.

Prayer Requests

Please pray that many helped by the clinics would be added to our daughter churches. As we regularly ask, please pray specifically for our team families–the Christiansens, the Halls, the Osgoods, the Sarvers, and my own. I ask that you pray for Mark and Kimberly Nesbitt, my daughter and son-in-law, as they move from First Baptist Church to Bethel Baptist Church in Spanaway, Washington, where they will serve with Pastor Jesse Dominguez. Bethel Baptist has been a huge supporter of our team from the beginning!

Thank you for your prayers and financial support this year. Our family hopes you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and an enjoyable holiday season.
