Missionary #6506 Prayer Letter: We Have Reached the 50% Mark in Our Support!

Missionary #6506 Prayer Letter: We Have Reached the 50% Mark in Our Support!Praise the Lord! I have been praying that the Lord would provide over half of our support by the end of 2019, and He did! After two years on deputation and traveling all over this country, I can affirm that God truly blesses those who give toward missions. We ourselves have been giving more to missions and are looking forward to giving more! I am fully persuaded that a church with all the problems in the world on its shoulders, those will be blessed if they give more to missions! I’ve heard stories of mechanics who looked under the hood of a missionary’s vehicle and realized that there was something more holding the vehicle together. Likewise, a church that shares the Gospel locally, gives faithfully, and increases annually to missions somehow makes it through the impossible. Recently, we were at a church that should have closed its doors a few years ago for a mess that would seem impossible to recover from, but the new pastor knew a secret to get through any mess: go soul winning and give to missions. Not only does most of the congregation attend weekly soul winning, but they gave over $100,000 above and beyond their Faith Promise. This church is not only growing; it is in the process of starting 10 churches in the next 10 years!

Praise the Lord! I knew that we would be staying at the same prophet’s chamber for over two months and prayed that God would give me a “Timothy” to lead to the Lord, see him baptized, and then disciple him. One Saturday morning, one of my boys and I dropped into a church that had soul winning. I was following someone in our vehicle to the neighborhood where we were to knock doors, but I lost him in traffic before getting to the destination. I traveled back to the church, but no one was there, so I decided to take my son to a trailer park I had driven past. Right before entering the trailer park, a man stopped me in the middle of the road and asked me if I could give him a ride. He had a speech impediment that made him very difficult to understand, but I was able to take him to his desired destination. During that time, I was able to lead him to the Lord and invite him to a church we planned to drop into the next morning. That Sunday, he was baptized, and a few days later, we visited him at his home. He lived with his mom and stepdad, along with a friend and others. We had a great visit, and I prayed with his family before leaving. The stepdad was in poor health and couldn’t make it to church. He asked me if I would come by a couple times a week to have a Bible study. God gave me more than a “Timothy”; He gave me a family to love and encourage. That family is now very close to my heart, and I will miss them. Please pray for Virgil’s health, as they recently put him on hospice for congestive heart failure, which is getting worse. Ask God to give Virgil grace and comfort to stay focused on Christ despite the pain that he endures. Ask God to give him favor in the eyes of the doctors and nurses to be a witness for Christ. Please pray for grace and comfort for the entire family; pray that they will continue to grow in the knowledge of God’s love, to know His power to bring them through these difficult times, and that they will experience God’s intimate fellowship through this time of suffering.

Pray for us as, we are about to enter a busy season of traveling. Pray for our churches in America that there would be a revival of purity, power, and passion for lost souls! Thank you for your prayers and support!
