Things are rolling, and much has happened since my last prayer letter, so I will dig right in.In July, I wrapped up my full-time position as my home church’s secretary. I spent my time getting the position ready for the individual who would be taking over my responsibilities. I loved serving my church in this capacity and love my church family, who have been wonderfully supportive. It was a very busy month, bittersweet as I passed the baton and stepped out of my role in my local church into faith and full-time deputation.
August was my first month on full-time deputation. I had a Missions Conference in Southern Iowa. It was a very sweet time, and I made great friends, whom I am still in regular contact with. Both August and September were spent reaching out to churches and setting up meetings.
In October, the ball definitely got rolling. I had a Missions Conference at a wonderfully missions-minded church in Houston, Texas. It was a fantastic time getting to know the church and the many missionaries who attended and finding out what a small world it really is. I made the trek from Houston to Mesa in one day; thank you to all those who prayed for my safe travels! In Mesa, Arizona, I attended a Missions Conference in which Dr. S___ was the special speaker—I always enjoy his preaching! It was wonderful to catch up with some old friends and meet new ones. We had a few opportunities to go soul winning, and I met a gentleman named G___, who is in very poor health. We got to talk about the Lord Jesus and Heaven, and I was able to get a tract in his hand. He is homebound and has his faith rooted in televangelism. Please pray that when the local-church folks follow up with him, he will be open to getting his salvation settled through the Lord Jesus.
I landed at home for about 28 hours before I was off again! This time, a dear friend of mine and I headed for a Missions Conference in Powell, Tennessee, with a quick pop-over visit to a church in Asheville, North Carolina. We enjoyed wonderful fellowship at both churches, and I am grateful I was given the opportunity to visit them.
After that, I headed home for a couple of days to take a breath to prepare for my next round of meetings in November. I am so excited about what the Lord is doing! In the last few weeks, I have had three churches and a couple of individuals commit to taking me on, praise the Lord!
Praise, Praise, and more Praise!
