The Scriptures tell us to “Give thanks unto the LORD . . . make known his deeds among the people . . . talk ye of all his wondrous works.” (I Chronicles 16:8-9) We are praising the Lord for all of His blessings in the last two months.
Being that this is our “summer,” we had our VBS in April and our Youth Rally in May. For 5 days in April, we conducted 29 daily meetings in various neighborhoods for 4 days and held a big gathering at our church on the last day. The Lord blessed with 602 different children reached and 500 saved by personal soul winning.
Every year we hold our Youth Rally to challenge our teens and college-aged young people. This year was blessed with more than 150 teens and visitors from China and Taiwan. In 3 days, they heard 12 messages by 8 different speakers. Our theme this year was “Onboard.” Great decisions were made by our youth to get on board and stay on board with our generation in areas, including the Bible, doctrine, music, soul winning, purity, standards, and convictions. The altar was flooded with those making decisions, including those who surrendered to full-time Christian service. Several committed to attend Bible college this year. Please pray, as they may face opposition from relatives.
We celebrated the wedding of two of our college graduates, Elmer and Abigail, in May. They were the eighth couple from our graduates to marry. It was a beautiful ceremony, celebrating another pair who dated correctly and kept themselves pure. I look forward to seeing how God uses them.
God blessed my soul winning these last two months with Miss Yashmien getting saved on a Thursday night, coming the next Sunday to IBC to be baptized, and going out with a soul winner the next Thursday. Another rainy Thursday evening, I was able to meet a group of bicyclists at a local park and led 15 of them to the Lord. During Saturday soul winning, I was able to meet Mr. Santos at his house, a police officer for 22 years, who gladly heard the Gospel and trusted Christ.
Thank you to all of you who support us in prayer and finances. I trust you will give thanks unto the Lord for the work He does through us, as we share the Gospel with the lost and train those saved to follow Jesus Christ as faithful disciples.
Yours co-laborer in the Philippines,
Scott Christiansen
