Missions University is an opportunity for missionaries to share and receive ongoing education centered around the work of missions.

For two-and-a-half days, it combines newly accepted FBMI missionaries with active missionaries who are serving either on deputation or on the field.

Video Overview

Missions University is designed for you . . .

To learn from other missionaries

Short, specific presentations and lessons will be shared by veteran missionaries and people with areas of expertise. Some of these lessons will be introductions into forum discussions, and some will be dedicated teaching sessions.

To contribute to other missionaries

Forums will be the staple venue of our sessions, allowing all involved to participate and contribute. It is in these where you will intersect with other missionaries operating parallel to you. Deputation missionaries will discuss best practices both with each other and with newly accepted missionaries. Veteran missionaries will share insights and discuss challenges together.

Ladies will have sessions and forums with Debi Pryde and Amber Bosje to discuss important matters they face on the mission field. All missionaries will have the opportunity cross-influence no matter what their stage of ministry.

Some of the topics of these sessions and forums will be:

  • Presentations from Newly Accepted FBMI Missionaries
  • Long-term Ministry Planning
  • Biblical Counseling
  • Ministering as a Missionary Wife
  • Creating Missionary Media
  • New Financial Reports
  • Serving as a Pastor’s Wife
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Making Phone Calls on Deputation
  • And More

To grow with other missionaries

The goal is for everyone to grow themselves and their ministries for the glory of God. It may be that one take-a-way makes a pivotal change for you. It could be that a new relationship is initiated with another missionary that leverages both ministries. We may discover ideas of how FBMI could add or improve services and benefit all FBMI missionaries. We look forward to growing with you at Missions University.

“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment.”

– Philippians 1:9

Enjoy various provisions and tracks for your family.

Your entire family is invited to join us for a picnic on July 15 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The picnic will take place 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday night, July 15, at the pavilion of Wicker Memorial Park, located at 8554 Indianapolis Blvd, Highland, IN 46322. Here is a map of the park. The pavilion is labeled with letter A on the map.

While the picnic will be a casual event, the attire for the rest of the week will be business casual. Please plan accordingly.

The cost is $75 per couple/individual or $100 per family if children are participating in the activities or nursery. This price includes all meals, giveaways, and activities.

Click here to send an email with names and ages of any children you want to register for the activities or nursery.

Your children are in for a treat. We have a fun week prepared for them that they will be sure to remember. A program full of games, food, and activities will be provided. If your children are participating, you will bring them to Missions University at 8:15 AM each day to have breakfast and begin their journey.

If you have any teenage children attending the FBC Youth Conference during this week, they can register at 5 PM on July 16 in Building P with the FBC Youth Department and participate as part of the FBC Youth Group. It is best not to register them online.

Feel free to contact our office directly with any questions. Our First Baptist Church regional youth pastor and wife are Bro. and Mrs. Abdel Judah.

Each day the Missions University sessions will begin at 8:30 AM. This will be a combined session before all the breakaway forums begin.

Sessions end by 3:45 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday and after the 12:30 PM lunch on Thursday. Our sessions will dismiss in time for Youth Conference evening breaks.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided by WMS circles throughout Missions University, and Youth Conference dinners will be available during evening breaks of the conference. The WMS ladies always serve excellent food, and the mealtimes always become a productive time of fellowship with other missionaries and with the FBMI office staff.

New family and profile pictures can be taken during mealtimes. It would be a great idea to plan for this if you need updated photos for your materials and online platforms. Please email Brian North if this is something you would like to do.
