From April 1 through April 10, 25 men enjoyed a rare, life-changing experience. Pastor R___ E___, Pastor R___ W___, Brother M___ J___, and I took part in a Bible training conference that would change all of us. Twenty men from N___ B___ Church in central Pakistan committed to a week of training in Christian leadership. Pastor N___ and Pastor E___ coordinated the conference so that these formerly Muslim men could train for the ministry. Topics on doctrine, soul winning, spiritual warfare, counseling, servitude, enduring hardship, and many other subjects were covered. Through it all, the men took notes, studied tirelessly, and testified to the value of what they learned. The most gratifying aspect is knowing that many of these men will go on to impact Pakistan with what they are learning and the gifts God has blessed them with. Sleep was spotty, and the food was difficult to digest. Sickness struck a few times, and the Devil seemed to fight at every turn. Yet God’s Spirit could be felt every hour of the day and well into the night as we prayed for His moving. Prior to our travel to the conference site, Pastor N___ and his workers arranged a huge meeting at a nearby Islamic wedding center (!), where the Gospel was clearly preached. There were 900 people in attendance; most had never heard the Gospel before. B___ W___ preached that night, and there were many professions of faith, followed by 8 baptisms later in the week.

Finally, how many of you remember the Christmas-greeting video in December? You might remember a father and daughter, P___ and N___, from Afghanistan, giving their cheerful greeting. P___ and N___ have studied the Bible with me online for over a year, and God gave me the opportunity to connect with them face to face in Pakistan during our travels—what a blessing! We hugged and encouraged each other for about 20 minutes and left gifts with them. Please pray for them. Thanks to a contact in the government shared by one of the men, we are working to secure citizenship for them in Pakistan so they don’t have to be deported to Afghanistan. The Taliban will do great harm to them because of their Christian faith. PLEASE PRAY . . . and thank you for loving people through us in the 10-40 Window.
