  • Juan and Amy Vallejo Prayer Letter: God Has Given Us Many Blessings! We want to give thanks for this New Year, in which God has given us many blessings and also many tests. We are grateful for God’s mercy and for the pastors and family who have exemplified the love of Christ in our lives. Our family has seen the Lord work miracles, and we are all so blessed by all that He has done!

The children are doing well in school and sports on this furlough. I am grateful for the opportunity my wife and I had to visit some of our Hispanic churches in California and to see pastors we haven’t seen in more than 15 years. I also want to thank those who remained steadfast in their Faith Promise. Our support has been at 70%; even so, our God has allowed us to take care of our family of 9 and the 2 churches we are working with in Brazil.

God has really blessed us with improved health. My wife and I are being treated for some deficiencies. We have had extensive out-of-pocket (dental and medical) expenses for the entire family. Please pray that God provides.

Also, please pray for my wife, as she was referred to a neurosurgeon for herniated discs in her c-spine. We are planning on returning to Brazil in April. We also ask for your prayers that God would provide what is necessary for airfare for our family. We are looking forward to seeing Juan and David, as they have continued the work on the mission field in our absence!

Thank God for the souls that we have been able to evangelize in three languages—English, Spanish and Portuguese—recently. The preparation that God has given us is a blessing, and we are glad to be able to use it for His work. I know that the more prepared we are, the more we can do for God!

Let’s look at some of the testimonies.

In English: Whenever we are making visits, we try to meet the family and find out if anyone has not heard the Gospel. Fifteen years ago, I had the opportunity to evangelize Tim, and now we returned to his home and were able to meet Tracy, his wife, to whom we were able to explain the Gospel. She received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour. How important it is to always ask people about their salvation!

In Spanish: We had the opportunity to go out to evangelize in a small town in the Midwest with my team (Bro. Tim and Bro. Carl). I was asking God for 5 souls. Although it was very cold, the people were willing to listen to the Gospel, and the Lord gave me 7 souls that day. There was a 25-year-old named Erick at the first house. He was not interested in listening, but after explaining to him the place he would go if he did not accept Christ, his attitude changed. When asking Christ for salvation, his appearance was happier and with an attitude of gratitude, which is what God always does in the people who truly receive Him.

In Portuguese: There are so many people who do not understand the love of God, but my son David explained to this young man about the importance of receiving the Lord Jesus Christ so that he could become a child of God. Thank God for the work that the Holy Spirit does to convince the world of their need of Him. The Bible says in II Corinthians 5:20 that we are ambassadors in the name of Jesus Christ to reconcile people with Him.

Please continue praying for our family so that the Lord’s provision always covers us and we do more for our Saviour. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. May God bless you!

    In God’s service,

    The Vallejo Family
