  • Walter and Suni Poole Prayer Letter: Fruit to Your AccountWe want to express our heartfelt thanks to each church and individual who support us. We are serving in Cambodia because of God’s grace and your giving. In Heaven, we will get to thank you personally. Even more exciting, those who have been saved through this ministry will also thank you personally.

    FRUIT TO YOUR ACCOUNT

Pich (mid-20s) was led to faith through the ministry of another Christian. She joined our church soon after. She speaks English fluently, to the point where she is able to handle the KJV Bible as her preferred English version. She has adopted a number of robust convictions and standards on her own, even before I had a chance to teach her, such as Godly conservative music, regular church attendance, and consistent personal Bible reading. She has become a friend to the girls in our church as well. She was recently baptized. However, her new job requires her to work many hours with no days off. Please pray that she will get that adjusted.

Theara is a teenage boy who received Christ a few weeks ago. His family had a connection with church in the past, but due to the bad testimony of some Christians in their family, they retreated to the Buddhism of their early years. In fact, a few weeks ago, I watched as Theara was asked by his mother to fulfil a Buddhist ritual just before he got on our church vehicle. It is not the work of a day to understand how to navigate between the Lord’s expectations as a new child of God and family expectations and false religion. Nevertheless, his mother and grandmother appreciate our investment in Theara’s life and always receive us graciously when we visit the house.

    COMING UP SOON

In just a few weeks, seven members of my wife’s family (six nieces and nephews and one sister) will be coming for a month-long visit. The younger set are all around the age of our own children, give or take a few years. In addition to frantically looking for mattresses, we will attempt to use the increased excitement to generate new visitors to church.

In June, Bro. John Francis of First Baptist Church in Hammond, will pay us a short visit. We look forward to his preaching at a Teen Rally Saturday night and in our morning Sunday service. After that, he will visit another church here in Cambodia, before moving on to Thailand to be with another missionary.

    MISCELLANEOUS BLESSINGS

    • Heng is a boy who stopped coming to church due to hurt feelings. He recently showed up again.
    • My wife and daughter have been successful at consistent house-to-house Bible studies.
    • Both of our children are ready to start college this fall.

    PLEASE PRAY FOR

    • Safety, as these days, both of our children are driving motorcycles to get around.
    • Our son, who is finishing the last two months of high school. Not only does he drive a motorcycle to school (minimum of 40 minutes one way), but he also needs to finish his academic requirements, and he is responsible for leading a good number of the musical numbers at school. The demands will only increase as graduation comes closer.
    • My wife, who is going to Kuwait to participate in a Missions Conference; most of the participants will be Telugu-speaking Christians, such as herself.
    • Our church while we are gone to take our children to college. There is a chance I might have our members join with another like-minded church not too far away.
    • A car and a place to stay during our short three-month furlough

    Sincerely,

    Walter Poole and Family
