Team Ghana Update: Six Years LaterSix years ago, our church sent out Brother Rexford Aning to start a church in the Brong-Ahafo Region. Also that same year, God brought to our Bible college a young man named Kingsley Addai Gyasi. Kingsley has now graduated from Bible college, served on our staff, and will soon go start a church with God’s help. Recently, he went to visit and learn from Pastor Rexford’s ministry. He brought back this report:

I met Emmanuel Twumasi, a young man Pastor Rexford has trained to be a soul winner. Emmanuel goes soul winning faithfully, sometimes with Pastor Rexford and sometimes with someone whom he is training to be a soul winner. Emmanuel has been in the church for almost six years. Now he is working in the church as a Junior Church teacher and song leader.

Pastor Rexford introduced me to Fatima. One Saturday three months ago, he won Fatima and her three children to Christ. The next day, the children came to church. Pastor Rexford continued to visit the family and help them go through a series of discipleship lessons. After three weeks of discipleship, Fatima came to church with her children. Since that time, Fatima has only missed church once.

Pastor Rexford has a place where he has been going to spend time with God in prayer since just after he started the church. One of his first requests was for a man who could translate into Twi as he preached in English. God answered his pray by allowing him to meet Alex Addai during his third week of visiting nearly six years ago. Now Alex has grown to be a soul winner, a translator, and an adult Sunday school teacher.

Seeing how God has used Pastor Rexford to start a new church has inspired me. I, too, will focus on soul winning, discipleship, prayer, and getting God involved in everything I do. I will also keep the doctrine of the church right and firm. I believe that the God Who helped Bro. Rexford to start that ministry is also available to help me do the same. Amen.

I consider it a great privilege to know and train men like Pastor Rexford and Brother Kingsley. I am also blessed to serve alongside our team missionaries like the Christiansens. Would you take time to read their most recent prayer letters (tinyurl.com/ChristiansenLetters) and to pray for this good family? God bless you.

Yours for souls,

Ted Speer
