Team Ghana Update: Medical Mission PlannedMedical Missions

In November of last year, we were privileged to have Missionary Brandon Heselschwerdt visit with us for a few days. He serves with FBMI Team East Africa in Kenya. He took the opportunity to see our ministry after participating in a medical clinic in Northern Ghana with Truth for Today Medical Missions. When I took Brother Brandon to rejoin the medical team, I was privileged to meet their director, Dr. Robert Waller.

At that time, Dr. Waller and I discussed the possibility of Truth for Today organizing some medical clinics that would help get the Gospel to the areas of some of our daughter churches here in the Ashanti Region. As a result of that meeting, Dr. and Mrs. Waller returned last month to survey these areas.

Dr. Waller is a soul winner. He and our staff man, Peter Frimpong, were able to share the Gospel several times as they visited different government offices and church areas for the survey. While here, Dr. Waller preached for our church. Several young people made the decision to do the will of God with their lives. (Several of these are pictured below with Dr. Waller.)

Having surveyed our area, Truth for Today has decided to partner with us and come October 20-31, 2023, with a team of medical professionals and other volunteers to conduct six clinics here in the Ashanti Region. They typically can see more than 400 people in one day, and each patient hears a clear, one-on-one presentation of the Gospel; the local church members will do the soul winning for these clinics. Please begin praying for these clinics. We believe many will be saved, and our daughter churches will be strengthened. The cost to transport and feed the soul winners for this event should be around $1,500.

Truth for Today depends on volunteers. If you are interested in this trip, more information can be found at truthfortodaymedicalmissions.org/tripsanddates.html. Details about the application process are on the website.

Evening College Classes

For a long time, I have had a desire to start offering evening classes for our Bible college. Thus, we launched our evening college this month, and it was a blast! On four Tuesday and Thursday evenings this month, I taught 20 of our church men a class on sermon preparation. Most of these men are not able to attend our day college due to their work schedules. My desire is to get more of them trained for the ministry. As always, pray for God to send more laborers into His harvest.

Also, I thank God for our team here. This month I ask you to take time to read the Hall family’s latest update and pray for their needs.

Thank you!

Yours for souls,

Ted Speer
Pastor/Team Leader
