Jerry Wyatt III Prayer Letter: Upcoming Tanzanian Stadium Crusade!Sumaye Secondary School

We are excited to start teaching Bible in another public school. We will be starting a “religious” class in the Sumaye Secondary School. One of our church men has volunteered to run the class, along with one of our teen boys who attends the school. God has used our Public School Ministry greatly to reach hundreds of children and teenagers. Please pray that we will see fruit that abounds in this school.

Men’s and Ladies’ Conference

On the Friday before Father’s Day, we had a men’s mini-conference at the church. It was encouraging to see many of our men come out for this event. It was a time of godly fellowship and encouragement to one another. Also each month, we have an evangelistic ladies’ meeting in a neighborhood around our city. The month of May, we held the meeting at our church. There were over 73 ladies in attendance, with 26 trusting Christ as their personal Saviour.

Visitors

It was good to have the Bolton family visiting. We had many different ministry opportunities for them to participate in during their week here. It was a blessing to have Bro. Bolton teach in our Faith Baptist College. We also had Bro. Montana and Kellie Morrow come for a survey trip. Montana and Kellie plan on returning to Tanzania to serve alongside us in the ministry here upon completion of deputation. Please keep this young couple in your prayers.

Construction

These past two months have been busy with construction around our church. We built the final wall on the church building. The building is still partially open-air so that it does not get too hot. We also have put in some beautiful walkways throughout the property. The Tanzanian people are very excited about all the additions to the property and often comment on the beauty of their church property.

Camp

We had an incredible Youth Camp for the teens of our church. We were excited to have nearly 40 campers. We had several different preachers focusing on the theme of “Cross Training.” At the end of the final service, teens wrote down some dreams and plans of their own that they physically placed at the foot of a cross, signifying they were giving those to the Lord and were seeking His will for their lives.

Stadium Crusade

We are full swing into planning for this year’s Stadium Crusade. I cannot believe it has already been almost a year since we had our last crusade. We are praying that God would finalize all of the important details. We are working on getting all of the needed permits from the Tanzania Soccer Federation, as well as the permits from the local government to hold a soccer match of this level. Since we are dealing with two national soccer teams here in Tanzania, there are a lot of processes to follow to make sure all of our bases are covered. We just recently held a team meeting, trying to finalize our scripted schedule for the crusade. Of course, the focal point of the whole crusade is the preaching of God’s Word. We are praying over all the details and asking God to work in a special way during the preaching.

Please continue to pray for the following:

• Pray for my message preparation for the crusade.
• Pray that we would be able to raise all of the needed finances for the crusade.
• Pray for the preparation of the team from Desert Gateway Baptist Church.
• Pray that we will be given a radio license from the TCRA.
