Wes Palla Prayer Letter: One Year InIt has been a chilly month here in São Paulo. Last night it was 43 degrees at our house. To those of you who live in the Snow Belt, that won’t seem like anything, but I can assure you that when you have no fireplace and no central heat, 43 degrees can feel pretty brisk. Regardless, our hearts are warmed by the growth in the work here in the church. It is a blessing to see people growing in the Lord.

Two of our ladies have been working for a while to invite friends and family, and one recent Wednesday night, they brought a visiting lady and her daughter to church. During the invitation, Cynthia was able to lead her to the Lord. The family who brought her was thrilled! Another one of our families (Antonio and Renally) has been inviting their family members to come to church without much luck. We encouraged them to be persistent and keep praying and working. For the last few weeks, Antonio’s cousin Tico has been coming to our discipleship class on Sunday mornings with his 16-year-old son. While he is not ready to “commit” to coming regularly, he has been very clear that he is profiting from the material and that it has been a welcome surprise to find a church that “isn’t just after his money.” Pray that God will work in his family and that they will be grounded and show commitment to their Saviour.

Our One-Year Anniversary Services went very well, and I’d love to thank all of you who prayed. Bro. Ed Johnson from Taubaté, Brazil, preached for us; and Sunday morning we had 36 people in our Spanish services, with 3 adults making professions of faith. That night we only had about 35 people when the service started, but within 10 minutes of starting, we had 60! There were 16 first-time visitors, and half of the crowd was adults. Another 4 adults trusted Christ during the evening service, and since then, 2 new families have been attending regularly.

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and giving. We are excited to see God continuing to work in people’s hearts here in Guarulhos. Pray for continued growth in our new converts. Pray for God to raise up more workers here within the ministry, and pray for divine appointments so that we can freely share the Gospel with those who are searching. We love you and appreciate you.

Declaring His glory,

Wesley Palla
