Wes Palla Prayer Letter: Departure Draws CloseWe are so grateful for each one of you. While the last couple of months have taken a very unexpected turn from what we had planned for the tail end of our furlough, God has used you to be a tremendous blessing to our family. It is amazing to me how many of you have gone out of your way to be an encouragement to us. Several churches allowed us to be with them “virtually.” Many of you sent along a love offering just because. We are humbled by your generosity, and we are blessed to have such committed partners with our ministry. Thank you so much. There are a couple of big items that I would like to address so that everyone can be up-to-date and so that you can continue to pray for God to move in Brazil.

I would like to share exactly what our next church plant will look like when we get back to Brazil next month. Over two years ago when God began moving in our hearts about the great need in the Northeast, He used some dear missionary friends to do so. After going up and holding evangelistic conferences in the Northeast, conversing for many hours, and praying for many more, we knew that God was moving us to a different region of Brazil. Not only that, but He wasn’t going to have us work alone once we got there. Over the past year, He has been putting together a team of people whose goal is to see many churches planted in the Northeast. Upon returning to Brazil, we will be working with our friends, the Leland Johnson family, along with Brazilian families that we will begin training immediately for a future church-planting ministry. One of these families is a product of our ministry in Guarulhos. I believe we are on the cusp of seeing a tremendous harvest of souls and churches planted in the Northeast Region as a result of the combined and complementary strengths of these team members. Please pray, as there is still much work to do to be fully prepared for the church launch later this summer.

I’m sure many of you can imagine the financial output involved in getting a church planted. Thank you for giving generously to help us get the needed space and equipment for this next launch. God has already led some churches to give toward chairs for the auditorium and children’s church, and another church gave toward our return tickets. When multiple people chip in a little, it becomes much. For those pastors who would like to know more specifics about the needs we still have for the church plant, I would be happy to share them with you at your request.

Please continue to pray with us that God will allow us to return to Brazil as soon as possible, and pray for the financial and logistical needs of getting back and getting everyone settled. Thank you for praying for our health and safety and for always being so generous toward us. We are blessed to have you all in our corner, and we are eager to get back and get to work.

Declaring His glory,

Wes Palla
