Wes and Cynthia Palla Prayer Letter: Baptisms, VBS, and GrowthIt has been a great two months of ministry since we last corresponded! We have baptized five more people since our last letter: a family of three, one of our men who has been with us for over a year, and our six-year-old daughter Mariella. We rejoice at what God has been doing.

At the end of July, we held our winter Vacation Bible School, and I was very happy as a pastor. We had over 20 church members serving in different capacities. It was a more complex format than we have previously used. There was a lot going on at all times, but our folks did an excellent job. Everything ran smoothly the entire time, our group of kids were well behaved throughout, people were excited for the event each day, and new kids (and parents) showed up every day, By the end of the Bible school, there were over a dozen professions of faith. We averaged around 70 in attendance each day of VBS. From that outreach, we have had two new families begin attending church regularly, and numerous new kids are being brought by one of our church families. We praise the Lord for the results He gave us.

Moving into August, we started another round of discipleship, held a soul-winning workshop for our church folk to learn how to more effectively share the Gospel with those around them, saw very strong attendances in our services, and had nearly 20 adults visit our church for the first time during the month. We also received the encouraging news that our missionary partners, the Leland Johnson family, would soon be returning to Brazil.

We ask for your continued prayers for the work here. September is going to be a very busy month. We will celebrate the second anniversary of the church here this month, and we will also be holding our first-ever Spring Campaign. We have been encouraging our people about bringing visitors, serving in new areas of the ministry, and working to fill our auditorium space on a weekly basis. Pray that we will see souls saved, baptized, and added to the church as a result of the work of our people over the next five weeks.

We love and appreciate you. We are privileged to be your representatives here in Salvador, Brazil.

Declaring His glory,

Wesley Palla
