Tom Dinius Prayer Letter: Our God Is Mighty and Powerful in Everything!“The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.” (Nahum 1:3)

Our God and Saviour is mighty and powerful in everything, even during the COVID-19 lockdown. The people here are seeing the power of God’s hand and are thinking about their eternity. I was up getting groceries for the house when two young men approached me as I came back to my car. “Pastor, Pastor, my friend and I were talking, and he doesn’t know God.” I took out my New Testament from the glovebox and started sharing the Gospel with the two young men. After seeing what the Bible says, the other young man also wanted to accept Christ. God is so good that even when I am not allowed to go soul winning because of the lockdown, He brings the fish to me. One accepted Christ, and one got the assurance of his salvation.

Stage 1

Lockdown—we were not allowed to have church, but our family and those staying with us had church together. Those were sweet times with our God. The community we live in is very needy, and this time of COVID-19 has made it even more so. God has kept us very busy, as there were many physical, educational, medical, and spiritual needs. Because of your faithfulness to us, we were able to meet many of the needs in our church people, a national pastor and his family, and our community. Thank you!! Two young women came to Christ when someone sent them to us because they were in need. Then the father of one of our faithful young men got saved after receiving one of the gift boxes of food and toiletries. It is a blessing to see God at work.

Stage 2

We were able to restart our Bible study and our church services, breaking down the church services into three separate services.

Stage 3

We were able to start regular services with everyone together. The only restriction was that no children were allowed without a parent.

Stage 4

This stage just started for part of Namibia, as the coast is behind us because of increased cases of COVID-19. We were so thankful, as we were afraid the whole country would go back into lockdown. We planned to celebrate our church anniversary and our anniversary of coming to Namibia on June 22, 2020.

Blessings

1. This was our 20th anniversary of ministering in Namibia. God has been faithful through all the years, tears, and many lives He has allowed us to touch for Him.
2. Souls were saved.
3. I received physical strength and healing, as I injured my left shoulder. The family has been sick two times during this COVID-19 pandemic, and all are well again.
4. God heard our prayers to watch over our families and churches back home.

Prayer Requests

1. Both of Jamie’s kidneys are enlarged, which was seen in an ultrasound. He had a GUVP showing an abnormal bladder, valve to the bladder, and left ureter, along with stenosis of the urethra. A stint was inserted into the ureter, and a catheter was also inserted and must stay until he has a renogram. There is no nuclear dye in Namibia at this time, and the airports are shut down due to COVID-19.
