Tim Simmons Prayer Letter: Uruguay COVID NewsWe trust you are off to a great start to the year. Thank you for your prayers on our behalf.

Soul Winning in the Southwest

We were blessed with great weather in California and Texas, and we were able to go door-to-door several times, giving the Gospel. What a blessing it was to be able to go together as husband and wife multiple times! We were able to go with Faith Baptist Church in Wildomar, California, and help with their neighborhood Bible Clubs. Since they can’t run buses, they have Bible Clubs on their routes in a nearby park. That day, at least 11 people trusted Christ as Saviour! Praise the Lord! We are always encouraged when we see a church that finds a way to get out the Gospel still—even during a pandemic. At Open Door Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas, I was able to give the Gospel to Yvonne. She said she would accept Christ on her own, but she also said that she wanted to attend church. A man we met named Greg, who is in the Army, also plans to come to church. That Sunday, several visitors were in church, and one person was baptized! We praise the Lord that He still works when people are willing to obey the Great Commission.

Uruguay COVID-19 News

On January 27, the Uruguayan government made an announcement that they will allow citizens and residents to enter the country once again in February. They also said that they plan to have 2.8 million doses of the vaccine delivered to Uruguay by March. As of right now, it is voluntary to take the vaccine. We would still love to be able to leave in April, but there is no open date yet for us to be allowed to enter. Please pray that Uruguay will allow us to enter soon. Right now our plan is to finish up our meetings at least through May if we can’t get into Uruguay before then. We are looking at a few options on what to do if we aren’t allowed into Uruguay after that. Please pray for wisdom for us as we plan out what our next steps should be.

New Supporting Churches

We are thankful for God’s protection as we traveled many miles from Wisconsin to California and then on to Texas in January. On January 25, we hit a bad snowstorm as we were traveling near Flagstaff, Arizona. The road was very icy, and we were driving through the mountains. We saw multiple cars in the ditch and some semi-trucks that couldn’t get up the hills. I’m thankful that the Lord watched over us as we drove that day. We were able to present our ministry in nine churches in January. We were able to be a part of two great Missions Conferences in January. We are thankful for eight new supporting churches in January. What a blessing it is to partner with these churches to get the Gospel to places it hasn’t reached in Uruguay!

We have seven Missions Conferences or Missions Month meetings in February. Please pray for us as we attend these meetings. Please pray that we can be an encouragement and a blessing to each church we visit. We love you all so much.
