Tim Shook Prayer Letter: New Families Growing in the LordThis month was busy, as our church held its first Summer Program, “Bringing Others to the Saviour.” The program started the first Sunday in March and lasted for three weeks. The staff, team, and church folks were excited to be involved; and everyone jumped in to help. Each week we were honored to have a special guest speaker come and preach for us. The first week Dr. Mark Bosje, director of FBMI, came with three of his pastor friends from America: Pastor Warren Johnson (Flower Mound, Texas), Pastor Steve Hobbins (Temperance, Michigan), and Pastor Danny Allen (Conway, Arkansas). The second week Dr. Philip Pope, veteran missionary to Thailand and translator of the Thai Bible, came with his family and a fellow pastor, Bro. Sandisuk. Then the last week we had a national pastor, who is also one of our supported missionaries, Pastor Phitak Jomhong, speak for us. We had over 109 first-time adult visitors during that three-week period, with many souls saved and baptized. My wife and I saw a total of 18 people saved through personal soul winning this month.

As a result of the program, several families were reached, saved, and baptized. One family in particular came every week of the program and has since started to come to our evening services on Sundays and Wednesdays. The husband’s name is Black, his wife’s name is Jow, and they have a 10-year-old son named B.J. Kuhn Black gave his testimony on a Wednesday night a few weeks ago and said, “I used to think that God wasn’t real. I didn’t believe in Him. Once I saw a sign that said, ‘Jesus is God,’ and in my heart I did not believe. Then, after I came to church and heard about Jesus and accepted Him as my Saviour, I believed! Ever since our family has trusted Jesus and has started coming to church, God has blessed us. He has given me a better vehicle for my job, and our family will be moving into a new house in a few weeks. I believe in Jesus now!” What a testimony!

A few weeks ago, my wife and I were out visiting with some folks from our church, and we stopped at Kuhn Black and Kuhn Jow’s house. As we talked, I asked them if they spend time together reading the Bible as a family each night. Kuhn Jow replied, “Oh, no! We don’t have time in the evenings, because we’re just too tired after working all day, but every morning after breakfast, we sit down and read and pray together.” What a thrill it was to hear their sweet testimony of growth in their new life in Christ. That’s what it’s all about!!

We trust you are blessed as you read about the work and ministry that is growing in the
Lord here in Hua Hin, Thailand. Thank you for your sacrificial investment!

For Him,

Tim Shook
