Sam Marasco Prayer Letter: We're Almost There! We trust you all had a Christ-centered Christmas and are looking forward to the excitement and freshness of the New Year like we are. Thank you all for the birthday wishes for Sammy and Krista. Thank you also for the gracious Christmas gifts and greetings. We are especially overwhelmed by God’s goodness and provision to us through His people and the best supporting churches missionaries could hope for.

We were able to see some souls profess faith in Christ at some of the churches where we were ministering. Krista was able to share the Gospel with a lady after the service on a Sunday night, and she led a nine-year-old girl to the Lord after church on the following Sunday morning. The other two were boys whom I personally led to Christ after preaching in Junior Church at a Missions Conference. We can’t wait to lead more to Christ, begin to disciple them, and begin having Bible studies at our home on Oahu.

A lot has transpired for us over the last two months. We finished up the last of our scheduled meetings. We had our home under contract before Thanksgiving; however, the sale fell through a week later. We were discouraged because of the frigid weather and upon learning that home sales really slow down after Thanksgiving through the first of the year. Well, after a lot of prayer and trying to understand why the Lord allowed the sale to fall through at the time it did, we received a cash offer a few days before Christmas. The main benefit of this is that there are not as many hurdles to get through for conventional financing, and we can close sooner. Praise the Lord! He’s always good.

Please pray for smooth sailing, as we will begin loading the 40-foot container on the 21st of January. After we load it, it will be taken to the rail yard on the 23rd, go cross-country, and should arrive in Honolulu in about two to three weeks. On the 24th, we will close on our home, turn the keys over, and drive cross-country to California, where we will ship our van on the 28th and then fly over to Honolulu on the 29th, Lord willing.

Please pray for our housing to get finalized over there and that the Lord will direct and give confirmation on where He’d have us live. Please also pray for the Lord’s direction for a meeting place to start the church and that He would begin assembling a team.

I want to close by extending an invitation, as there have been many churches that have expressed interest in taking a missions trip to Hawaii. I believe there are many benefits logistically that would make Hawaii a great missions-trip destination, as well as an opportunity for us to minister together in a new church plant.

Praise Report and Prayer Requests

• We got a cash offer on our home, and it is under contract.
• We received generous Christmas gifts and gifts toward our Passage Fund.
• Pray for God to prepare the hearts of the people at the new church plant and for us to seek them out.
• Pray for us to be soul-conscious, and pray that God’s power will be evident in our lives.
• Pray for God to supply the items needed for the upcoming church plant: tracts, start-up Gospel invites, church chairs (approximately $1,800 for 100 chairs). Pray for our Passage Fund (approximately $2,500 for 5 tickets). We will be shipping a 40-foot container to transport these items, a few personal items, and a vehicle.
