Sam Marasco Prayer Letter: Too Much Good Stuff!Happy Thanksgiving! This is my favorite time of the year. Holiday festivities, family time, and Christmas are right around the corner! We have much to be thankful for. Throw salvation into the mix, and you’ve definitely got “too much good stuff”! Anybody who is on their way to Heaven and will spend eternity with Christ has much to rejoice about.

In October Sammy and I went to Longmont, Colorado, for a week, where I preached a missions conference and presented our ministry of FBMI Church Planting. We were able to see a couple of folks trust Christ as Saviour while there. It was exciting to be with Pastor Corey Seulean and the church that he planted years ago. It was encouraging to be around a man with soul-winning fervor, as well as other co-laborers who are serving in the ministry at Longmont.

The following Sunday the whole family went to Indianapolis to another exciting church, where we preached and taught Faith Promise and presented our ministry. I was excited to learn of Pastor Hon’s burden to plant a church in the Carmel, Indiana, area. I have begun praying for laborers for several needy cities, including this one. Would you commit to praying for laborers with me for specific cities and areas that you know that do not have an independent Baptist church that is fundamental in its doctrinal beliefs, as well as a soul-winning church? One of the commands God has given us is to pray for laborers. How often I have been guilty of disobedience in this area.

We had 3 additional meetings during this prayer-letter period and saw 7 souls trust Christ as Saviour. Including these, we have been able to see 120 make a decision to trust Christ this year so far, as well as see 5 get baptized. While we had 2 churches scheduled to start this year, we had a bonus and were able to start 3. Another blessing while looking back on the year was that during these church plants, we were involved in distributing the Gospel to over 45,000 individuals and homes. I also had the opportunity to teach on Church Planting at Hyles-Anderson College 2 times this semester and have met about 7 young men there who believe the Lord would have them start a church. This is an exciting answer to prayer, and I look forward to helping them in the future.

In November Sammy and I were in Arizona helping with a new church plant out there for two weeks. We had a visitor come to church and were able to celebrate Sammy’s fifth birthday out West. We also killed and skinned a diamondback rattlesnake and made a cool band out of the skin for his cowboy hat.

Please pray for two upcoming church plants this January and February in California. One is in Central Valley, California, with Pastor Jesse Perez, whose reproducing church is the Coastline Baptist Church in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The other is the Harbor Light Baptist Church, pastored by Les Smaltz, where we will help with a Grand Re-Opening in February. Please pray for receptiveness to the Gospel in our canvassing and soul-winning efforts, as well as for God to bring a core group of people together who will be the foundation of these new churches.

Thank you for your involvement and partnership in the Great Commission.

Sincerely,

The Marasco Family
