May and June have come and gone, as we spent most of the time with meetings in the Midwest and a quick trip to Texas, as well as a trip to Maryland. We are excited to report that we had a couple of churches take us on for support while at the meeting. Of course, this is always a blessing, and we are humbled and thankful to gain any new partnerships in the work of God.
We are wrapping up scheduling meetings and looking to be heading back to the center of the Pacific at the end of November. This could potentially give us a late January/early February start date for the Rock Point Baptist Church, Central Oahu. Please pray with us along this goal, as we need about 20 more supporting churches for this to happen. God is more than able, as we have seen Him come through time and time again.
Our check-engine light came on in our van in March on our trip out West. After getting the code checked at AutoZone, I was told that cylinder two was misfiring. I put some sea foam in the gas tank to clean out the injectors, and the light went off. After a couple hundred miles, it came back on, so I repeated the process until I was able to get the spark plugs changed, all to no avail. I was encouraged to take it in to a dealer, as it appeared to be a mechanical issue that should be covered under the power train warranty. Our van was diagnosed to need a new cylinder head, which was not covered in the fine print of the warranty. This was going to cost us $2,000, but with the “friends and family discount,” they could do it for $1,800. Well, our family had a telephone prayer meeting with Sammy and me in Maryland and Krista and the two youngest back in Indiana. We begged God that evening to take care of the situation and to provide for the need of our costly vehicle repair. The next day we got a call from the dealer saying they were going to go ahead and fix the car and deal with the warranty company themselves. Jehovah-Jireh! Our Daddy provided! “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (I Peter 5:7)
Out of all the wonderful things that God has done the last two months, the most important would be the souls that were saved! Of course, this is what missions is all about. Krista and I were able to see 11 souls come to Christ during different preaching and soul-winning opportunities the Lord allowed. I was able to preach at a rescue mission in Dallas, Texas, and see some trust Christ, as well as speak at one of our supporting churches in Illinois for a Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Krista was able to speak at a Mother-Daughter Banquet at the same church and see some come to Christ as well. We praise the Lord that we could be used by Him!

• The boys finished school strong!
• God fixed our van!
• Pray for traveling mercies and for us to be a blessing to the churches we visit.
• Pray for us to be soul-conscious, and pray that God’s power will be evident in our lives.
• Pray for God to supply the items needed for the upcoming church plant: tracts, start-up Gospel invites, church chairs (approximately $1,800 for 100 chairs). Pray for our Passage Fund; approximately $2,500 is needed for 5 tickets. We will be shipping a 40-foot container to transport these items, a few personal items, and a vehicle.
