Roberto Tirado Prayer Letter: Continue in Prayer

PRAISE

“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds.” (Colossians 4:2-3) The Holy Spirit recently opened the door to share the Gospel with one of my uncles who lives nearby. Robert suffered a major heart attack three years ago and also has kidney problems. He has been bedridden for three years, and his health is getting worse. The Holy Spirit worked in Robert’s heart, and he put his faith solely in Jesus for eternal salvation!

In our June prayer letter, I asked you to pray for our three-week trip back to Santo Domingo to take care of both ministry and personal business. The Lord blessed our trip, and we were able to sell our van and all our major household items. Our church still needs a pastor to take over our work. I continue to stay in contact with our church people.

PRAYER

In the past couple of months, I have asked all our supporting churches to pray for our adult daughter Grace. The responses have been overwhelming from our churches, wanting to partner with us in prayer for her. On August 10, Grace had a brain tumor successfully removed; she was alert, speaking, and eating soon afterwards. She has been receiving iron infusions, as she is very anemic. Grace continues to experience strong headaches and has been prescribed pain medications once again. Please continue in prayer for Grace. It looks like she will be receiving at least some radiation treatments, as her doctors make a final determination on the aggressiveness of the tumor. What a great blessing and comfort it has been for my family and me to have an army of God’s people praying for Grace!

In August, we took a survey trip which included the cities of Camuy, Hatillo, and Arecibo on the northwest coast of Puerto Rico. We will also be going to and praying about possibly starting a church in Aguada. Please pray for God’s leading as to where He would have us serve in Puerto Rico.

GRATITUDE

We thank the Lord for saving my uncle and for His continuous watch care over us during this unusual time. The fervent prayers of our supporting churches have encouraged our hearts throughout this year. Your continued financial support has been a blessing in reaching Dominicans, Haitians, and Puerto Ricans.

Faithfully continuing in the service of Jesus,

Roberto Tirado
