Robert Tirado Prayer Letter: A Great VBS!PRAISE

“That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.” (Psalm 78:6-7) Our church had its first Vacation Bible School from July 3-6, and the Lord’s hand was plainly evident in our midst. Both adults and children worked diligently to invite and get other children to attend our VBS. God blessed our labors, and we had 21 children receive Christ as their Saviour. On Sunday morning we baptized 8 of these new converts in an inflatable pool. Our church purchased a water truck so we could have enough water to baptize and to fill our church’s cistern. In the Sunday morning service following our VBS, we had another 7 children put their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.

PRAYER

Please pray that our church would be able to raise the necessary funds to purchase a van to be able to better transport our people to our services. One of the obstacles that we had to overcome in our VBS was transporting children from El Café to Ensanche Altagracia. Our hired driver and I each made 2 to 3 round trips each morning transporting kids and adults to and from church. A good friend of mine, a faithful Dominican Christian man, has been helping me look for a van that our church could purchase. The prices of the vans he was able to find vary from about US$5000 to $10,000. If you could donate to help our church purchase a van, please send your donations marked “Tirado Church Van” to FBMI.

Please pray for Angela and me, as we both got the Chikungunya virus (a mosquito-borne disease) over three weeks ago and are still feeling the effects of the disease in our bodies.

GRATITUDE

In June of this year, we completed 20 years with our mission board FBMI. God has been so good to my family and me by giving us so many faithful supporting churches over these last 20 years. I thank the Lord for the leadership and office staff of our mission board who have faithfully served God and the missionary families serving with FBMI. The men and ladies of FBMI, past and present, are a dedicated team, helping missionaries preach the Gospel to every creature. A special thank you to Dr. Michael Cox for his dedication and vision in founding FBMI. God bless you Dr. Cox and Mrs. Cox.

For souls,

Roberto Tirado
