Ricardo Leyva Prayer Letter: The Blessings of GivingAfter commenting on soul-winning and missions blessings in my last letter, I am now going to share the blessings of giving with you in this letter.

GIVING!

The church in Mexico where the missions conference was held in late December 2014 pledged 92,000 pesos for Faith Promise for the year 2015. I think that this is great for their first missions conference. The church in Camaguey, Cuba, pledged 220 Cuban pesos (US$9.00) per week for missions. This is amazing for a church in Cuba, where people average making US$20.00 per month.

For about a decade, I myself was giving to missions here and there, but no Faith Promise. I was not really seeing the blessing! “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly . . . .” Three years ago, though, I pledged my Faith Promise and have faithfully given it! The Lord has blessed my heart, watching Christians give to missions and respond to the call of missions. “. . . and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” (II Corinthians 9:6)

NEW HOUSE CHURCH

We began services in the home of one of my graduates in Cienfuegos. Two families showed up! That is a good start! Amen. We anticipate more people as the time progresses, so we are going to buy more chairs and a light, portable pulpit.

In the middle of February, we flew from Cuba to Mexico to attend a missions conference in Cuautla, Morelos. The entire conference was a blessing! We heard good preaching. I myself preached and presented my ministry, and we went soul winning with the church.

PRAYER REQUEST!

My wife was recently diagnosed with a big tumor in her uterus. The doctors don’t know yet if it is cancerous. She is going to have some tests done, but, in either case because it is so big, she will have to have surgery to remove the tumor. Please pray that it is not cancerous and that it will get smaller!
