This has been one of the busiest years of my ministry, from the very beginning of the year until this day. I enjoy being busy for the Lord. “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:16) My birthday was in April, but it was not a day off—it was another busy day for the Lord. Thank you, though, for the emails and birthday cards.
Speaking of celebrations, in June of 1999, my family and I took our first survey trip to Cuba. That was 20 years ago this month! On that trip, we passed out Gospel tracts on the streets and witnessed to a few people. Twenty years later, we have not changed! Today we are still doing the same things . . . and much more! “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” (Malachi 3:6)
During all these years, I have done my work of preaching the Gospel mainly in the cities. Now I am going to preach the Gospel to rural Cuba. The other day, I hired a guide on a horse and a horse for myself. We went to two small villages around some mountains in Pinar del Rio. It was a two-hour ride one way and again two hours back. I passed out Gospel literature and witnessed to a few people. Two of them got saved! Amen! The next day, I was sore from riding the horse, but joyful. I enjoy serving the Lord! “And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him.” (Luke 8:1)
Many years ago, a constant exodus of Cubans toward the USA was the norm. Then it stopped for many years. Now with shortages of food, work, and other daily necessities, Cubans are leaving their country again. We try to give the Gospel to as many as we can, and the ones we don’t reach will hopefully get saved there in the USA.
Please pray for two Cuban pastors I know, Pastor Giovani and Pastor Orlando. The Devil is attacking and wants to destroy their families.
Please pray for:
1. Power to preach the gospel.
2. The spiritual lives of my family.
3. Our finances.
