Ricardo and Maria Leyva Prayer Letter: The Great ExodusMy Cuban soul-winning partner and I went one day to a street corner, which is usually very busy, to pass out Gospel tracts and do some soul winning. After a while, I noticed that there were fewer people passing by than there used to be. I said to myself, Maybe it is just a coincidence that not many people are out today! The following week, we were out again on the same street corner at the busiest time of the day. After an hour or so, I noticed again that there were fewer people passing by. The exodus in Cuba is real; a lot of people have left this country! “How doth the city sit solitary that was full of people! How is she become as a widow! . . .” (Lamentations 1:1) By the way, these two times we were out, we saw 7 people saved! Amen.

And now my Cuban soul-winning partner has been telling me that he and his family want to leave the country also. They have two children. I am trying to talk him out of that idea, but I don’t know if I will succeed. They may leave without letting me know. He is my right hand! I pray that he will stay.

I heard that in a small town 20 minutes from our city (Cienfuegos), a small group of people were gathering regularly in a home for Bible study. They asked if I could come to visit and teach them a lesson. My Cuban partner and I went to that town in his old Russian Lada car. True to their word, 10 people were waiting for us, Bibles in hand, in the living room of a house. We sang, I preached, and I checked on their salvation. Three of them were not sure, so I went through the plan of salvation, and those 3 asked Jesus to saved them! Amen.

Almost everyone in that town works in agriculture, so my Cuban partner and I bought a lot of vegetables for a lower price than they sell for in our town. The trunk of the old Russian Lada car was about half full of vegetables for both us. “And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind . . . But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Luke 12:29-31)

Please keep praying for:

1. More souls to be saved
2. My Cuban soul-winning partner to stay in Cuba
3. God’s will in everything we do

In His service,

Ricardo Leyva
