Ricardo and Maria Leyva Prayer Letter: In the StatesAs September came, I began to plan for our family trip to the USA. I scheduled a flight for September 21. The week before our departure, my wife felt very sick. I took her to the doctor. The doctor ordered several tests to be done immediately, which we did! The results showed that she had a severe infection, very bad anemia, and high cholesterol. I told the doctor, “We are flying to the U.S. next week.” He said, “No, you are not; this lady can’t fly in this condition.” So, I moved the flight to September 30. My wife began the doctor’s treatment immediately. Two days before our departure date, I took her for a checkup, and the doctor gave her the green light to travel.

It is very crazy to travel internationally right now. All the stress gave my hiatal hernia a reason to bother me. When we finally landed and made it to the house in Northwest Indiana where we would be staying, I was so glad it was over.

October 2021

We started the month with a Missions Conference in Midwest City, Oklahoma, in a church that has supported our ministry for the past 20 years. We had the privilege of meeting the new pastor and seeing people who are still there from 20 years ago when we first met them.

On Sunday, October 10, we went to Campbellsville, Kentucky, where we visited a second church that has supported our ministry for 20-plus years. We had a great time of fellowship.

On Sunday, October 17, we visited another one of our supporting churches in Louisiana. This church has also supported our ministry for 20 years now. We had great fellowship with the pastor and people we had not seen in 20 years. We ate gumbo and crawfish, which my wife and I both love.

On Wednesday, October 27, I had the privilege to preach at Roanoke Baptist Church in Roanoke, Indiana, where my son and his fiancée and her family go to church.

Finally, on October 29, our son got married . . . and a very busy October was finished for us.

Please continue to pray for:

1. My wife’s health.
2. Our furlough.

In His service,

Ricardo Leyva
