CHRISTMAS GREETINGS from Heaven, from Thailand, from our hearts!
“. . . behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which is CHRIST THE LORD.”
On Tuesday, December 8, our team was privileged to present a Christmas pageant and narration to a student body of 300, followed by a message on “Jesus, the Saviour.” It was the experience of a lifetime to hear that many voices praying the sinner’s prayer in unison. The angels are singing again! Our total program also included songs, games, a brief English lesson, and gifts for the administration, faculty, and students.
On Monday, December 14, we had the same program in a school of 400. The angels sang again as we listened to a sea of voices praying for the free gift of everlasting life because of the death, burial, and resurrection of a babe once in a manger in Bethlehem. Some may ask what really happened in those public schools. We went, the Gospel was preached, and the Holy Spirit did the rest. I do believe it will all be clear when we meet hundreds of Thai in Heaven.
I am reminded of the time I was in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in a state penitentiary, and 150 prayed the sinner’s prayer in unison. My sermon was on “The Love of God.” After the men prayed, I asked, “According to the Bible, where will you go when you die?” The group of approximately 300 men were totally quiet for about 20 seconds, and then in unison they shouted, “Heaven,” with cheering and applauding, while patting me on the shoulder and asking me to autograph their discipleship booklets. The angels were singing again.
Yesterday, December 15, we went to the large high school here in Hua Hin. There were between 2,000 and 2,500 students sitting on the cement floor of a huge open arena. Although there was some interference in the program at the beginning, in the end, the Lord seemed to bring a hush over the crowd as our beloved Ajan Sakrapee gave a thorough, clear presentation of the Gospel, and there were many voices heard in Heaven praying the sinner’s prayer—and the angels were singing again! What a joy to serve the LORD!
Carmen and I could never thank you enough for your gifts of love, prayer, and support. We are quite well for two old folks. By the way, you have just been listening to Gabriel, at least the Gabriel of the public school pageant. GLORY to the Newborn King!
Our love and prayers,
Randy and Carmen Shook
