Peter Morris Prayer Letter: Kenyan Pastors BlessedDear Praying Friends,

The months are flying past quickly, and as the year progresses, it is turning into an interesting one.

We just recently returned from Iowa and thoroughly enjoyed the missions conference we attended. I was looking forward to departing for Kenya to lead our yearly Pastors’ School. I had received indicative figures that there would be possibly 90 national pastors and church leaders in attendance when a number of unfortunate events occurred, not the least being one of our team members having a TIA (minor stroke) and some neck issues. I praise the Lord that it appears he has had a full and quick recovery from the TIA. This, along with a number of other complicating events, has led me to postpone the conference until July.

In July, along with the conference, I will be taking Andy Richey and his wife Connie and my wife and daughter on a survey trip to prepare for their moving to Kenya. This is promising to be an exciting trip for all concerned. In the meantime we continue in our endeavor to raise support for Team East Africa by individual team members having meetings and attending missions conferences and presenting the desperate need of the East African countries to hear the Gospel.

I am in regular contact with our national pastors who are working hard under very difficult conditions. Recently Pastor Solomon Odara in Mombasa replaced some of the chairs that were stolen from his church and was very excited to receive $300.00 toward that end. He has an average attendance of well over 200 and has 1 church he has planted and 8 outreach Bible studies.

Pastor Kennedy Obiko received $500.00 toward putting a cement floor in his church building and for needed repairs to his school building that were requested by the local education authorities. He has now finished the work. His church continues to grow, and he now has over 140 students enrolled in his school. His whole family was recently in the hospital after food poisoning, and he incurred a hospital bill well outside his capacity to pay. God blessed him through a special love offering from a supporting church, and he now has everybody back home and doing well. He will be leaving soon for Wajir and Garissa on the Somali border to visit two churches he has planted. After all his trials he says, “I must go.” Please pray for him.

So the work goes on. Team East Africa and I look forward to the time when we will have a team on the ground and can do even more to see converts discipled and God working through us and through these dedicated pastors. We are excited about being with these men in July.

Please pray for the following immediate needs:
• Finances to help with the expenses of Pastors’ School in July – $1,650.00
• Finances for purchasing tickets to Kenya for our family in July – $4,800.00
• Wisdom as I work with the Kenyan national pastors
• Protection for our families as we travel
• Much fruit for our labor
• Families wanting to serve the Lord in East Africa to join our team for the cause of Christ

If you feel the Lord is impressing on your heart to assist our ministry financially in these specific areas, then please send your offering to FBMI, Missionary #36, Peter Morris – Kenya Pastors’ School.
