Peter Morris Prayer Letter: Another Year of BlessingsFirst, we would like to wish you a Blessed Christmas as you celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank you for your ongoing support of our ministry, for without you we would not be able to fulfill what our Lord has called us to do. I am sure God will bless you for your faithfulness to our ministry and His purpose of seeing the Gospel go out across Kenya, East Africa.

It has been an exciting year with a lot happening, with national pastors planting new churches in Mombasa (South Coast), Kilifi (North Coast), Nairobi (capital), and Bungoma (Northwest). We continue to work with a newer church in Kilgoris while also assisting other churches as they endeavor to see their ministries grow. We had three Pastors’ Schools with 105 pastors in attendance from all across the country. Over the last three years, we have seen the attendance increase from 40 to 70 and this year to 105. We were able to teach these men concerning Soul Winning, Discipleship, The Role of Women in the Church, Godly Music, The King James Bible, Leading Muslims to Christ, and False Doctrine, as well as answer many of their questions.

One of the highlights of the year was seeing Pastor Fred Kambuni in Nairobi overcome all sorts of hurdles to become a pastor, start Greater Vision Baptist Church, and see his church attendance grow to 80 adults plus children. This was accomplished in a small school classroom, where half of his congregation flows out the door into the courtyard. We are halfway to raising enough money to purchase a tent, which will allow 200 people to comfortably get out of the sun and rain to hear the Word of God preached. It is particularly a blessing to me, as I have known Pastor Kambuni since he was a boy under the discipleship of Pastor Jeremiah Nyagaka, a pastor I have worked with for more than 20 years.

I also had the blessing of being able to take the MacDonald family (two adults and their three young children) on their survey trip to Kenya. They are the newest members of Team East Africa. Now that they have seen for themselves the ministry and experienced the environment and culture of Kenya, they are very much motivated to get through deputation as quickly as possible. The other good news is that the Richeys, the first family to join the team beside ourselves, are working hard to complete their deputation and raise the required support level so that they can move to the field in the second half of 2016. We will move to Kenya with the Richeys while they settle into the routine of life and work on the field. We are very excited, as we face the prospect of spending next Christmas in Kenya.

The recent month has been busy. On returning from Kenya with Bro. Richey, I preached a missions conference in Michigan, then flew to North Carolina as a guest at a missions conference there, then met my family at the airport to swap suitcases, and then flew to Hawaii to preach a missions conference there for a long-term supporting church. We are still actively seeking more support to reach our required target level for our family as we get nearer to our departure for Kenya in the second half of next year.

Praise Points

1. Praise the Lord! We have picked up two new supporting churches recently.
2. God has kept us safe while we travel.
3. The national pastors we work with are doing well.

Prayer Requests

1. We need to raise another US$800 to pay for Pastor Kambuni’s 200-people tent.
2. All contributions toward the purchase of a four-wheel vehicle (US$25,000) for when we move to Kenya would be gratefully received.
3. We need additional qualified families to join Team East Africa to help spread the Gospel across East Africa, disciple new Christians, and work with national pastors to see churches planted.
4. We need men of integrity to work with in the ministry in Kenya.
5. Pray that we will have more meetings and increase our number of financially supporting churches.

Thank you for your ongoing support. May the souls being saved and the works being done be added to your account in Heaven. God bless you.
