“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” (Luke 6:38)
As a father, it is my prayer that my kids would one day receive the wonderful gift of salvation. He answered that prayer, in part, when Sofia got saved and was baptized way back in 2017. Three years later, God saw fit to fully answer my prayer. Before I left for the U.S., I had the chance to lead my youngest daughter Hadassah to Christ. My heart was overjoyed when I baptized her.
Four other people were also baptized that month. Three of them were relatives of my assistant, Lito Maceda. For a long time, he had been faithful in witnessing to them. He regularly visited them and held Bible studies at their house. They started attending our church services, got saved, and expressed their desire to become a part of the church. For Lito, it was a marvelous day to see three of his cousins get baptized. Indeed, our labor will not be in vain as long as we stay faithful to Him.
The other person I baptized was Roy Pacala. This young man is an example of how our God is a God of second chances. Roy’s life was far from perfect. Cheryl, one of our young ladies, and Roy were living together in sin, and Cheryl got pregnant. They realized their mistake, though, and actually did something to correct it. They decided to formalize their union by having a civil wedding. All throughout, Roy’s wife Cheryl still came to church, though we had to dismiss her as a member. Later, Roy joined his wife in coming to church. He began to show interest in God’s Word and, by His grace, accepted Christ as his personal Saviour. He was baptized, and now he and his wife are the happiest couple in the church and fun to be with.
COVID-19 has put on hold many of the normal things we do and placed our country in an unfavorable situation, yet God’s plan will still prevail and continue no matter what. As mentiond in our previous letter, a lot of our church activities were put aside because of this pandemic. God has remained faithful and has kept us safe through these past months.
