Parish Javier Prayer Letter: Busy as Bees in the Lord's Work“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4:4-6)

It’s summertime once again! With all the activities going on in the church and with our kids being on vacation, we are as busy as bees!

MARCH-APRIL

It’s always a joy to see people being added to our church. In March, Ricky Borejon was baptized. He was invited by one of our young people. The Gospel was presented to him; and, by God’s grace, he accepted Christ as His personal Lord and Saviour. In the month that followed, Jenelyn Taño, together with her daughter Bridget, was also baptized. They committed themselves to staying in our church for good.

Here, summer is incomplete without Youth Camp. Our young people and young adults are always looking forward to this event. They work hard to save money so they can go to camp every summer. This year, 40 people were able to attend camp. Youth Camp holds a special place in my heart. It was during one of these camps that I surrendered my life. Looking back, I always get teary-eyed reminscing about those precious memories.

MAY

“I Will Go” was the theme of our our Missions Conference, held May 4-5. We were blessed to hear encouraging messages to increase our Faith Promise giving from Pastor David Coltrane of MIBC in MacArthur, Leyte; Pastor Samuel Tecson of GBC in Tolosa, Leyte; and Pastor Lito Dave, Missionary to Vietnam. Also present were Ms. Jennie Dangpilen, a missionary going to Thailand, and Bro. Giovanni Baris of BBC in Llorente, Eastern Samar. Our church believes that both foreign and local missionareis are worthy of our support.

As much as we value the spiritiual maturity of our adults and young people in the church, we do not want to overlook the growth of our Junior Department. They are the next generation, so we also invest time and effort in their spiritual development. May 8-10, 12 kids attended the Junior Camp in Babatngon, Leyte. We also hosted a two-day Vacation Bible School May 30-31, with 76 and 78 kids in attendance respectively.

Once again, thank you for you faithfulness and prayers. May God’s abundant blessings be upon you.

In Christ,
