Osmin Gutierrez Prayer Letter: Tracts Make a DifferenceGreetings from Honduras. I pray this correspondence finds you well. The work continues in Honduras; people continue to get saved and baptized. One of the ones baptized was our son Gerson, who got the assurance of his salvation. Thank God, all three of my boys have trusted Christ as their personal Saviour, and all of them have told me that they want to serve God full-time with their lives. Please pray that they will be faithful to the commitments they have made to the Lord.

A few weeks ago on a Saturday, a group from our church went out knocking on doors, and it seemed like people were not responding. That evening, however, a lady named Digna called and told me that we had left a tract with her sister earlier and that she needed to go to church. I made arrangements and had her picked up by our bus. The next day, Digna and her family came to church. She has trusted Christ as her Saviour and has told me that she wants to get baptized. Digna has had a very hard life. She told me some of the things she has endured that I will not share out of respect for her. She lives with the father of her twin boys but wants to do right and marry him. The father works as a security guard but barely makes enough to support Digna and the boys. He works 24-hour shifts every other day with no days off. He works 15, 24-hour shifts a month. That’s about 220 hours a month for a pay that amounts to $400 – $500 per month. (I am assuming they let him sleep 8 hours and give him an hour for lunch.) Although they have many needs, we have been able to help them with some. I am glad I am here and able to help people like Digna with their burdens. Thank you for supporting me, enabling me to help people like her.

Honduras has been in the news a lot lately because of the immigrant caravans. Unfortunately, there is a significant number of people who work under terrible conditions like the one described in the previous paragraph. When these people know that they can make four times or more working in the United States than what they make here, they choose to leave. We have lost a lot of families because of migration through the years; it is discouraging, but we just have to get over it. My prayer is that the United States Government and the American people will have a biblical perspective of immigrants and treat them as people made in the image of God.

The construction of the building is almost finished. We just need to buy the materials for the floor, platform, and outside lighting, which will cost about $5,000. If you would like to help us with this, we would appreciate it.

May God bless you and continue to use you.

Truly,

Osmin Gutierrez
