Osmin Gutierrez Prayer Letter: The Work ContinuesI pray this letter finds you well. We are still in in the Northwest Indiana area. My wife continues with her cancer treatment. A couple of weeks ago, she had an MRI done to determine how effective the treatment has been. The MRI showed that the cancer tumors around her spine were gone, but she still has lymphoma in the spine. Because of this diagnosis, the oncologist decided to use a stronger drug that should get rid of whatever is left. She had her first treatment with this new drug last week, which does wear her down more than the previous one, but she is okay for the most part. Please pray for my wife and her health. The doctor also told us that we will probably need to stay in the U.S. until November. If you would like for us to come and report to your church, let us know. My cellular number is 219-670-5363, and my email is osmingutierrez@fbmi.org.

It has been said, “When it rains, it pours.” On July 19, my 21-year-old brother was murdered on the South Side of Chicago. He grew up in church and was saved as a 12-year-old boy, but sometime during his teen years, he started hanging around the wrong crowd and got away from the Lord. I preached my brother’s funeral, and 3 people trusted Christ as their Saviour. I am glad I was here and was able to be of some comfort to my mom and the family. Please pray for my mom Rosa. I can’t imagine what she has and is going through.

The work in Honduras continues to go forward. Two of our men and two pastor friends of mine are taking care of the teaching and preaching. The church people have been faithful and have kept most everything going. They miss us, and we miss them. In God’s timing, we’ll be able to serve the Lord together again.

Our boys have enjoyed their time in the U.S. They have been able to participate in different activities of our church, such as visitation, summer baseball league, and Youth Conference. They have also enjoyed spending time with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Thank you for your prayer and financial support. May God bless you and use you.

Truly,

Osmin Gutierrez
