Ismael and Sara

Osmin Gutierrez Prayer Letter: A Bittersweet MonthFebruary was a bittersweet month for us. On the 13th of the month, I had the joy of marrying Sara and Ismael. Sara is the first person I baptized when we started the church 14 years ago. We have watched her grow, struggle, and come out victorious in her Christian life. She graduated from a Bible college in Panama last semester. Ismael and Sara plan to serve God in his home church in Panama for now and then go into full-time service. We thank God for the influence we were able to have on her life.

On the 19th we received the news that my wife had a tumor in her back. We had to make an emergency trip to the U.S. We arrived on the 22nd, and my wife had back surgery on Friday, the 26th. They removed the tumor and sent it for a biopsy. They diagnosed her with a B-cell lymphoma. She will have a port put in next week and should start chemotherapy shortly thereafter. The doctor has given us a good prognosis about this type of cancer, and we are trusting God, knowing that He is in control. This news has shaken our world, and we are not sure about anything at this point. I will do my best to keep you all up to date as things progress.

My cell phone number while in the States is (219) 670-5363. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. May God bless you and use you.

Truly,

Osmin Gutierrez
