The last two months have been fruitful for us! We were able to partner with two new churches: New Horizon Baptist Church in Ward, Arkansas, and New Hope Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri. Thank you, Pastor Bernard and Pastor Tharp, for investing in our ministry! We enjoyed our time presenting our ministry in four other churches in Indiana, Michigan, and Missouri. We are so close to being fully supported!
We had the privilege to go soul winning with Calvary Fellowship Chapel in Pennsylvania, New Hope Baptist Church in Missouri, and Hope Bible Baptist Church in Michigan. Landon went soul winning with us in Missouri and took his first ride on a church bus! Praise God for the souls that were saved during the Missions Conference at New Hope Baptist Church!
Birthday and Friends
Kellie celebrated her birthday while we were in Pennsylvania. I was able to take her out to one of her favorite restaurants, The Cheesecake Factory, in Columbus, Ohio. We were able to eat dinner that night with one of Kellie’s roommates from college and her husband. During one of our trips to Missouri, we were within a couple of hours from another friend from college. We stopped by his home on the way back to Iowa. One advantage of traveling the States is being able to reconnect with friends along the way. Some of our best friends are those we had the opportunity to meet in college.

Praise God that Landon’s passport came in the mail on October 27! We were expecting a much longer wait due to COVID, but thankfully it only took seven weeks for his passport to be approved. We have never seen a cuter passport photo! Pastor Wyatt will be submitting our visa applications any day now; please be in prayer that the Tanzanian government will not reject our paperwork. Our Exit Interview with Bro. Bosje and Bro. Snipes is scheduled for November 23. Everything seems to be falling into place for our January departure date.
I will be purchasing our 40-foot shipping container soon, and then we can start loading up our belongings. After months of traveling, living out of suitcases, sleeping in different hotels, and eating A LOT of fast food, our deputation journey is about to come to a complete stop. When we bought our minivan in 2017, it had 82,000 miles on it. It now has over 170,000 miles. Roughly 30,000 – 35,000 of those miles have been for deputation purposes. We are thankful that we have had a reliable vehicle to travel in and that we’ve always had the money for a mechanic when we needed one.
Thank you so much for being a part of this amazing journey of deputation. We are excited to be leaving for the field in just a couple of months. This year has had its share of the unknown and unexpected, but we are thankful we serve a God Who has already been through tomorrow and Who is with us every step of the way.
