Mike Sarver Prayer Letter: Reached by the Bus MinistryMy wife Maria is a vital part of our ministry here. In addition to all she does for our family, Maria leads a prayer meeting for the ladies of our Sunday school class, she plays the piano, she works in the nursery, she is a soul winner, and she is a life-changer too. She is making an eternal difference in the lives of the ladies here in Ghana. This month, I wanted to share the testimony of one of these ladies.

Emmanuella Appiah was reached by the Bus Ministry of our church in 2007. She was just seven years old. At the time, our church was located in Bantama. Jesus made such a difference in Emmanuella’s life that her mother Grace and grandmother Ama started attending with Emmanuella. In 2010, our church relocated to Bohyen, and the family was now able to walk to our church. Also in 2010, our Christian school, Fundamental Baptist Academy, was started; and Emmanuella began attending. Over the last 10 or so years, Maria and Emmanuella have become great friends. They go soul winning together regularly and have had many heart-to-heart chats and conversations about the Bible.

In 2019, Emmanuella graduated from our school, and soon thereafter, she was hired to work in the elementary learning center. In addition to teaching in our Christian school, Emmanuella teaches a Sunday school class in our children’s department. Emmanuella has grown to become a fine young Christian lady. We believe God has great plans for her. Please pray for God to continue to guide and direct her life.

Praises

Last month, I requested prayer for Ben Darkwah; the swelling in his legs has greatly reduced, and he is back in church. Dr. and Mrs. Mark Bosje were the guest speakers for the Marriage Conferences held at our church earlier this month. They were a help to our marriage, to the marriages of our church, and to those of the pastors we have sent out. We thank God that recent visitors to our Sunday school class are growing in grace.

Prayer Requests

As of right now, I am still scheduled to preach the funeral of Nana Kwame Oppong on April 24; please pray for souls to be saved. I have purchased plane tickets for our family’s furlough; we are scheduled to fly out on May 17 and return on July 24. We will be in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Please pray that God would use us to be a blessing as we travel. Pray that our ministry would not be hindered by COVID-related requirements.

Thank you for believing in us!

Mike, Maria, John, Joy, Faith, & Ben
