Mike and Maria Sarver Prayer Letter: Rich in FaithWhat a great month March 2022 has been. On March 3, I turned 50! (Yes, I am now a half-century old!) On the Sunday before, Pastor Speer and the church surprised me with a video and a plaque recognizing my years of service here. Then on my birthday, Pastor Speer and the staff surprised me with a party during lunch. Maria, my kids, and my Sunday school class spoiled me as well. All the attention was humbling and awkward, but I enjoyed it very much!

Seek Ye First

Several weeks ago, I made some visits with David Addo, a bus captain in our church. Our first visit was to the family of a deaf young man who attends Hope Fundamental Baptist Church for the Deaf. (This is the church started by our fellow team missionaries, Rocky and Melanie Hall.) We shared the Gospel and answered many of their questions. I believe several of them trusted Christ. The Halls tell about this visit in their most recent update (Baraka Hall Prayer Letter).

Then, Brother David and I visited one of my class members from his route who had not attended church for a while. She, her daughter, and her granddaughter live in what I can only refer to as a metal shack. This class member had been sick, so she had not been working, and she had not had enough money to see the doctor. I encouraged her to come back to church. She said, “I cannot come to church; I do not even have food to eat.” I responded, “If you do not have food to eat, that is not a reason to stay home; that is a reason to come to church because you need God.” (We did help her with some food money before we left.) To her credit, she came to church the next day, and she brought two visitors. Our church helped her with enough money to see a doctor, and she has now been able to go back to work. The next Sunday, she brought another visitor who desires to join our church. I believe God is showing Himself real to this class member, and I thank Him for that.

Family Members Saved

I often challenge my Sunday school class members to have a burden for the souls of their relatives. I was thrilled to hear that my class member Beatrice Williams wanted us to come share the Gospel with her parents. Pastor Otchere Boachie and Brother Peter Akwasi-Frimpong made the visit, and they were able to win both parents to Christ! The father (age 80-plus) had quite a few questions about the message, but both he and his wife (age 75) sweetly received the Gospel. I thank God for the Gospel and for these two co-laborers, Pastor Otchere and Brother Peter.

Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray that God provides for the renewal of our church lease, which we expect will cost at least $350,000. Donations have started to come in, and several large commitments have been made by supporters. This video further explains our need: Ghana Lease. God is able!
