The beginning of May found us in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as we enjoyed a blessed missions conference with the dear people of Grace Baptist Church. Evangelist Larry Brown preached the conference, and each day was a blessing. We have so many great memories of all the special acts of kindness from these dear people. One of my favorite experiences while at Grace was getting to go out visiting in the community there with one of the young men from the youth group. Often when out making cold-call visits with a young person, they want me to do all the knocking and talking, but this young man stepped right up to the doors with a spirit of Christlikeness, wanting to share the Gospel and invite individuals to church. It is always encouraging to me to see young people with a desire to please Jesus and a passion to reach the world for the cause of Christ.
Before leaving Colorado, we had the blessed experience to visit Crystal River Baptist Church. This church has a huge heart for missions. My wife and I were both so humbled by their kindness to us, as well as their interest in world evangelism. While here we went out on Saturday, visiting and inviting folks to come to the service Sunday. We made several visits, but no new souls were brought to Christ until we went to a little flea market/carnival that was going on downtown. It was there that Laura was able to see 2 precious young ladies come to know Christ as their personal Saviour. That is what the ministry and missions are all about! I am so thankful for the opportunity to be an ambassador of Jesus Christ and share His love to a needy world.
During June we stayed mostly in Indiana and Michigan, getting the wonderful opportunity to meet many great servants of Christ. One Wednesday in early June, we had the chance to present our work at Greenwood Bible Baptist Church. We have dear friends who attend there, and we have had the opportunity to visit there a few times. Each time we visit, we feel at home. The people of the church have a sincere heart for their community, as well as a desire to reach out to the uttermost. It is uplifting to meet such people making a difference for God.
Our annual FBMI Candidate School was a blessing. It was nice having our team leader Dan Hubbard there to teach a few lessons! We are so thankful for the hardworking individuals who make up the FBMI staff and help us carry out the calling the Lord has led us into.
We ended June with a meeting at Roger City Baptist Church up in Michigan. It was nice meeting several faithful saints of God who have served many years, as well as seeing some young people excited about the work of the Lord. As a Michigander, it was nice to be in Northern Michigan for a while.
One huge surprise blessing came from Marion Avenue Baptist Church. We had the opportunity to stop by there on our way to Colorado, and they have chosen to take us on for support!! What a blessing it was to be a part of the service there. I could listen to their choir sing all day. We feel so blessed to be able to partner with these dear individuals and folks like them as we endeavor to make Christ known.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
Your servants in Christ,
Mark and Laura Siegwart
