Mark Rader Prayer Letter: Seventh-Anniversary SundayDuring May and June, we have been on quarantine, with a strict lockdown with no one leaving their home here in Peru on Sundays. We are continuing all our services, Bible studies, and devotionals online with Facebook and Zoom. Also, the students of our team’s online institute are doing well.

During the month of May, our soul winners started going out on Saturdays again. The first couple Saturdays, the police questioned us on various occasions. We simply explained that we were having voluntary conversations with social distancing, and we got along just fine. Our men are also preaching on the public buses again. We also started having prayer meetings during the mornings with different people coming different days. Almost every morning we had a small group to pray. Our house has been busy almost every day with friends and volunteers from the church. We were also privileged to help broadcast our team’s Ladies’ Conference. At the end of May, our church celebrated her 7th anniversary.

On June 10, Sarah and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. One Saturday during June, one of our men, Olger, was out soul winning with us. We asked for his help to make a baptismal video to help teach on baptism that evening in a Bible study online. He said, “Pastor, I need to speak with you about that.” He said that because of a sermon he’d heard by Pastor Zach Foust and because of hearing my wife Sarah’s testimony online, he realized he was not saved. At that moment, we got on our knees, and Olger asked Jesus to save him. Fifteen minutes later, he gave his testimony on camera and was baptized.

Our children are doing a great job with their schooling, and their mommy is taking the isolation like a champion. (Children are not allowed to leave their homes at all.) Please pray for our family. Please pray for our church family. By God’s grace, we are all in good health, but many have lost loved ones during this time. To see our church members helping each other has been beautiful. Please pray that we will have the blessing to openly congregate soon.

Thank you so much for being faithful to the Lord through these difficult times. We are praying extra for our churches in the States through this time. Thank you for watching and praying. Thank you for your love, support, and prayers. God bless you.

In Christ in Peru,

Mark, Sarah, Savannah, Paul, Samuel, Rebekah, & Luke Rader
