Mark Rader Prayer Letter: Reaping BlessingsSeptember and October were outstanding here in Peru. We have been reaping blessings every week. While walking down the street one day, 5 adult men, who work at the “city hall” of our area, stopped me to practice their English skills. When they were done, I then practiced my Spanish, and 4 of them received Christ as their Saviour.

My wife Sarah and I had the privilege of organizing and hosting our first children’s workers mini conference. Five churches participated as we shared songs, ideas, and a lot of encouragement. At the end we were able to give a variety of materials and lessons for their Sunday school classes. These included an eight-week illustrated Creation series that my wife and I put together. Everyone had a great time, and it was requested that we make it an annual event.

Our Bible studies at the pizzeria and in San Genaro came to a close in October, but we are happy to see some fruit remain. Our ministry responsibilities have increased. We took the pastorate of the church in Surco during the absence of their pastor, Ezequiel Martinez. Please pray for missionaries Ezekiel and Chrystal Martinez, as they are home for a while to receive some much-needed medical care concerning Chrystal’s pregnancy. We will possibly be pastoring this church for the next six months. We took this new responsibility in the middle of October. During the last two weeks of October, 7 were saved, and Juan was baptized. For her birthday Solange brought cake, snacks, and 8 of her university friends. They were all psychology students who met because of shared class schedules. That morning we preached “Because He First Loved Us,” and 6 were saved.

At the same time we took the church, we also started a “Physical Proofs of the Faith” Bible study at Efata Baptist Church. Each Monday night, from 150 to 200 people have been coming to the study. At this study I’ve had the privilege of personally speaking with geologists, chemists, psychologists, and nurses. Now two other churches in that area want to have the Bible study in their church.

We are so grateful for your prayers. Please pray for our family, as everyone is sick. Please continue to pray for the church in Surco. Please pray for our “Physical Proofs of the Faith” Bible studies. Progress with the newspaper slowly continues to move forward.

We praise God for you and your faithful sacrifice. Thank you for all you do. Thank you for your support, your love, and your prayers. God bless you.

Because He first loved us,

Mark, Sarah, Savannah, Paul, & Samuel Rader
