June and July were jammed full of joy. Sarah and I started by celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary in the mountains here in Peru. We had a great Father’s Day, with hamburgers and utility pliers for the men. Our Sunday school has become very interactive, and more are participating. We have several out soul winning, sharing the Gospel, on a weekly basis. We have had visitors almost every week. Souls are being saved, and new converts are being baptized.
Peru’s Independence Day is July 28. The Sunday before, we planned Costa Sierra Selva Day (“Coast Mountains Jungle” Day). These are the three geographical regions of Peru. Our ladies prepared food from each of the regions and decorated. Our people brought 17 visitors that day; 5 received Christ as Saviour, and 2 were baptized.
Our church is soul winning like never before. Between 15 and 20 of our people are soul winning on a weekly basis. This July, we had a very extra special blessing. Our oldest daughter Savannah led her first soul to Christ. Before the end of the month, she had won 3 souls to Christ. Glory to God! We want to thank Chris and Irene Williams for their influence in Savannah’s life and in our church. Our church is now sharing almost 10,000 Gospel tracts on a monthly basis.
Team Peru’s institute nights have played a great role in the edification of some of our church members. Nine of our church members started the semester, and in July, nine of our church members finished the semester. They are faithful, growing, and winning souls. Please pray for our upcoming semester; we’re hoping to double our student attendance.
Please continue to pray for Sarah and the baby. I’m sure by the time you read this letter, little Luke Daniel will already be with us. Please pray for our institute as we make more disciples. Please pray for our church as we move forward. Please pray for our Pastors’ Conference in September, as we are expecting more than double the attendance that we had last year.
