Mark Rader Prayer Letter: Our Two-Month FurloughGod tremendously blessed our visit to the United States this October and November. We visited 30 churches and preached 35 times in 12 different states, traveling by van more than 8,000 miles and by domestic flights more than 3,000 miles. We traveled more than 8,000 miles just flying from Peru and back to Peru. God watched over us. We also had the privilege of visiting 4 new churches. One has already taken us on for support. We had the opportunity to win souls both in English and Spanish. This was only our second trip back to the States as a family since 2012.

Thanks to the generosity of so many of our churches, we were able to pay off our travel expenses, start savings accounts for our children, update our wardrobes, buy new phones, purchase Christmas gifts for our children, have surgery on my toe, and send Sarah to the salon. Sarah and I left the kids at Grandma and Grandpa’s house while the two of us flew out to Colorado. We visited our churches there and enjoyed some time to ourselves. The other grandparents treated our family to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. This was truly a trip of a lifetime for us, full of good memories with great family.

Meanwhile in Peru in our absence, our church was moving forward with newfound energy. At the end of November, we came back to find 4 new families attending our church. Every Saturday they had been winning souls in the parks and nursing homes. They had been preaching in the nursing homes and on the public buses. Our men had bought a headset and personal speaker just for preaching on the buses. On November 1, the Day of the Dead, 36 of our members participated in an all-day soul-winning activity, sharing the Gospel in the world’s second-largest cemetery right outside of Lima. From Stateside, we helped our church conduct a vote to approve our team’s full-time Christian servants’ institute to be hosted on our property for the upcoming year. The vote was unanimous and ended with energetic applause. We are so blessed to pastor a church that is altogether rising up to the next level of service.

Please pray for our plans for the upcoming year, as we will be traveling many times to other parts of Peru, attending two Stateside conferences, hosting our team’s institute-seminary, directing our church’s institute, starting new Sunday school classes, and more. Thank you to so many for so much love, support, and prayers. God bless you, and please have yourselves a Merry Little Christmas.

In Christ in Peru,

Mark Rader
