What God hath wrought here in Peru during April and May has been marvelous. Many souls have been saved on the streets, in taxis, in parks, at birthday parties, at a funeral, and in homes. In April, we completed many remodeling projects, as well as prepared for many activities in May. In May, we had a Family Retreat, a Kids’ Night, a Men’s Breakfast, a Ladies’ Meeting, Mother’s Day, made preparations for a Ladies’ Conference, and celebrated our church’s Fifth Anniversary.
We always have fun at our Saturday Institute. In the month of April, the topic was “The Biblical Church.” The study was very edifying for us and those who attended. The results of our study called our church to a new level of order, organization, and a greater focus on evangelizing. In May, we taught “Personal Evangelism,” and our people are putting the truths they’ve learned into practice. More members are out soul winning on Saturdays.
One of our dear elderly saints went on to be with the Lord. Nerida graduated at age 94. Nerida was with our church for four years. She always came by herself. When we would visit, she would always come outside to meet us, so we never had the privilege to know her family. Just days before she passed, her family called to invite us to the house to pray for her and the family. She was frail and struggling with pain. A few days later, they called to inform us of the funeral arrangements. When we arrived at the viewing with the biggest floral arrangement we could find, we sat down to pay our respects. We did not know that we were conducting and preaching the viewing and funeral, but by the Holy Spirit’s leading, we came prepared. The Gospel was preached, and people were saved. Nerida’s daughter has attended our church since that day.
We are so blessed. We’re seeing God work in our church, in ways beyond our understanding, to prepare us for greater works. Please pray for many new upcoming opportunities for our church.
