Luis Martinez Prayer Letter: Privileged to Serve the Lord in Puerto Rico for 16 YearsI Corinthians 10:13 says, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

I pray you are doing well when you receive this prayer letter. My family and I are doing well, and we greatly appreciate your prayers. Thank you for praying for my wife’s health. Her results came back negative, and we praise God for that and give Him all the glory.

I have been privileged to serve the Lord here in Puerto Rico for over 16 years. I’m very thankful that He has been faithful. Every day we get to see His faithfulness in our lives. Even during trials, tribulations, difficulties, and burdens, we see His faithfulness.

Recently I received a phone call from one of our faithful church members. She mentioned to me that her brother was in the hospital and that she wanted me to witness to him. I rushed to the hospital and shared with him the good news of salvation. He squeezed my hand and nodded his head in testimony of his salvation.

I went door knocking with my boys on a new bus route that was started in the city of Naguabo and met a man who was receiving classes from the Jehovah’s Witnesses. He told me that he was studying the Bible and that he knew the Scriptures. I immediately asked him if he could quote Isaiah 53, and he said that he could not. Then I started quoting Isaiah 53. When I finished, I told him that the chapter was talking about Jesus. He allowed me to witness to him. I took him to I John 5:13 and then through the Romans Road. Then we prayed the sinner’s prayer. Afterward he thanked me for sharing the truth with him. His name was Luis, just like mine.

During the month of September, we had Evangelist Darrell Murphy visit Puerto Rico and preach a revival on a Sunday morning. We also had our founding pastor, Moises Rosario, visit with us and preach on a Sunday morning.

Our Fall Program went very well. One Sunday we had 25 first-time visitors. Several new families are now attending our church because of the program.
