I Timothy 1:12 says, “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.” I pray that when you receive this letter you are doing well, along with your family and loved ones. My family and I are doing well and would like to thank you so much for being a part of this ministry.
During the month of August, I get to celebrate 17 years of service here in Puerto Rico. I am reminded of the great honor that the Lord has given me by allowing me to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to these wonderful people. I am truly blessed!!!
During the month of June, my son Luis and I invited a young man to church. To my surprise, his name was Luis Martinez. Luis came to church on Sunday, and after the service I invited him to my office and introduced him to Jesus Christ. Within a short time, Luis bowed his head and received Christ as his Saviour.
Every summer we conduct Vacation Bible School. This year we had Danny Ortiz III and a group of young people from the Fredrick Baptist Church in Maryland conduct VBS. Over 30 kids were saved, and many continue to attend our church today. Dr. Danny Ortiz II, pastor of Fundamental Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas, preached for Vacation Bible School and during our church services. Our church was blessed and revived by his messages.
Please pray for the Puerto Rican economy. As you might have already heard, Puerto Rico did default on its debt. Government raised sales taxes to 11.5%. Over 80 new taxes have been added. Many Puerto Ricans are leaving the island and going to America. The Lord is in control!!! We just ask you to pray.
Another very important need that we have is the need for rain. We are also going through a drought. Our water reservoirs are at an all-time low, and the water company has already started rationing water. The government has declared a state of emergency. Please pray for us to receive the necessary rain.
