Luis and Carolina Martinez Prayer Letter: How Shall They Hear?Romans 10:14 says, “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” I pray you are doing well when you receive this prayer letter. My family and I are doing well, and I thank you for loving the people of Puerto Rico.

During the month of April, I received a phone call that the father of one of our church ladies had passed away. A few days later, I was able to drive an hour away to the cemetery and preached God’s simple plan of salvation. After the burial, I gave out tracts to as many as I could and was able lead three family members to the Lord. One of the men who got saved had previously come to our church but had not gotten saved then.

Also during April, we celebrated our church’s 37th anniversary. Pastor Luis Cuadrado from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, was our guest preacher. The altar was full, and many decisions were made to do more for God.

Towards the end of April, we were able to attend Hyles-Anderson College 50th Anniversary Celebration in Hammond, Indiana. Our son Luis graduated this year from Bible college and has decided to come and help us here in Puerto Rico. We are so thrilled and blessed to have him serving in this ministry.

During the month of May, we were able to close our 2021-2022 academic school year. Things got a little complicated towards the end, as several of our students tested positive for COVID. We are thankful that this year was probably the best year our school has ever had. Our students were allowed to return to in-person learning, and many of them got saved. Several of our students were saved during chapel, some were saved in their classrooms, and some even knocked on my office door letting me know that they needed to be saved.

PRAYER REQUESTS

• Please help us pray for several projects we have going on. First of all, the water company told us that we need to connect to the city sewage. This project will cost us $7,000, of which $2,500 has already been raised.
• We also need to repair our parking lot with asphalt. We can get it fixed, patched, repaired, and painted for $5,000. Please help us pray that the Lord would provide these funds to get these projects completed.

May God continue to bless you as you serve Him faithfully. Thank you very much for your love, prayers, and faithful support. God bless you.

In Christ,

Luis M. Martinez
