Kounaro Keo Prayer Letter: A Wonderful ChristmasOnce again, it is a joy to serve the Lord here in Cambodia. We pray that you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here in Cambodia, we had a wonderful Christmas with our church people. Many people did their part to make the Christmas service successful. The attendance count was over 92 people on Sunday morning, including adults and children. On Sunday night, we showed a video called Jesus in the Khmer translation. Nowadays, Christmas has become popular around the city, but most people do not know the meaning behind Christmas. They enjoy getting gifts and buying them.

Every year around Christmas, we gather gifts to give to the poor. This year there was plenty of gifts, more than we had expected. We divided them into four parts and distributed them to those in need around our area. We thank the Lord for our church people being willing to give what they have to others. They don’t have much, but as the Bible says, “. . . It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)

Please continue to pray for the Ladies’ Bible Study my wife has every Friday night. The attendance is very small, but the fellowship is sweet, and their time together is an encouragement. It has seemed to greatly affect the lives of several ladies and has helped with their spiritual growth.

Our youngest child Jonathan, who is seven years old, has started taking piano lessons from Priscilla. Priscilla is our church pianist, and she has been teaching Jonathan. He played “Away in a Manger” for a special piano solo for the Christmas morning service. Please pray for his progress in learning music.

For many years in front of our church building, the road has not been paved; the road was made out of rocks and dirt, which made it hard to travel. But about four months ago, the government came and finally decided to pave the road. We praise the Lord for that. It is much easier to travel on now

For Christ’s sake,

Kounaro, Chorvy, Kimberlee, Priscilla, Christina, & Jonathan Keo
