Kounaro and Chorvy Keo Prayer Letter: Peace Comes From God, Not From the World“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

I am so glad that God’s unchangeable Word promises peace from our Lord and not from the world. Every nation around the world right now has been shaken by COVID-19. Since getting back to Cambodia on February 4, many cases of this virus have been surging a great deal. The whole city of Phnom Penh has been locked down for many weeks. Numerous streets have been barricaded with police officers and soldiers, along with a new mandate that says citizens are not allowed to go outside of our communities; however, if we do, we must achieve a written note from our community authority. Our area, Chumpu Voan, is considered a red zone, partially since there are many factories here. The current curfew is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. I thank the Lord that even as I am writing this letter, these restrictions have been slightly lifted.

A few days ago, I was able to go out and attend the funeral of an elderly man who had been attending our services before this pandemic happened. He came to our church for over a year and then suddenly stopped coming. This man, who was over eighty years old, went Home to be with the Lord. While I was at his home, I was able to witness to four elderly ladies there. I shared with them the story of Creation and explained to them that he went to be with the Creator of the universe. Toward the end, I asked them if they would like to see him again one day; for some reason, they did not like that question. The conversation was abruptly interrupted, and I realized that these ladies were not at all interested in listening. Although their souls are not yet receptive to the Gospel, I thank the Lord for that opportunity to be a witness for Him. Please pray that God will move in their hearts and that Satan will not be successful in drawing them away from the truth.

We also were able to help give food to over 35 families who needed it due to many people being out of work. These packages included 25kg of rice, noodles, and more. Please continue to pray for this situation. We are so grateful for your prayers and financial support. God bless you.

For Christ’s sake,
