Keith Baker Prayer Letter: Starting a New WorkWhile looking in different areas of the country where there is no church plant, sometimes the harvest can be found upward. St. Raphael, where we serve, is approximately 1,500 feet above sea level on the northern edge of the agricultural plateau of Haiti, surrounded by mountains. On a recent Saturday, we began walking up the tallest peak and arrived three hours later. Previously we had been told that there was no Gospel witness there; we were misinformed. When we arrived at the summit, we could see three cities below us. We also saw three Bible-believing churches to the north of us.

Because of this fact, we will not be starting a church up there, but I was privileged to lead one adult man to Christ before we began our descent that day. We are, however, starting a new work in the Limonade (lee-mon-odd) area, two hours away near the district capitol of Cap-Haitien on the coastland.

On June 12, I issued our final exam for our seminary studies. We will recess until late this summer. Our elementary school was finished in late May. The ladies’ vocational school will graduate 8 girls this month.
We have seen 22 come to trust the Lord since our last letter, and 5 were obedient in believer’s baptism. Theresa and I plan to be in the States for part of the summer.

Thank you for your prayers and financial gifts. Warm regards from a warm Haiti.

Respectfully,

Keith E. Baker
